Who is BDF?

Basically Dance & Fitness is a dance and fitness school that rents space from the Hub to deliver its classes and activities.

 

The school offers a range of dance and fitness opportunities for children and adults, including recreational classes, competitive teams, examinations, and stage productions.

 

Competition Season - Our Competitive Cheer and Street Teams compete during the competition season, which runs from November to June. As this differs from the calendar year, there may sometimes be two competitions within a single calendar year.

 

Competition dates, venues, and entry fees are set by the individual competition companies. The dance school aims to attend competitions within the North West that offer both Cheer and Street categories. However, this is not always possible, and occasionally Cheer and Street teams may need to attend different competitions or venues. This can result in additional costs for families whose children participate in both styles of dance.

 

The competitions attended may vary depending on competition schedules, venue availability, and suitable dates and times for our teams and families.

 

Showcase - Every other year, Basically Dance & Fitness produces a stage show featuring all classes and teams. This gives students the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre environment and showcase their hard work, progress, and achievements.

 

Ballet, Tap & Acro - Our Ballet, Tap, and Acro students work towards a recognised syllabus and take part in annual examinations. These exams help students develop their skills, confidence, and technical ability while recognising their progress year on year.

 

Fitness

Our fitness classes run throughout the week in the Hub's fitness suite.

Classes are available as block bookings or on a pay-as-you-go basis. Please check the current timetable for the latest class times and availability.

There is also a dedicated Basically Fitness group where members can keep up to date with fitness class information.
