About Us

Our journey began with Basically Fitness, starting simply with two classes—Fitmix and Zumba—and from there, we’ve grown into a lively, welcoming community hub. What started as just a couple of fitness sessions quickly blossomed into a wide range of classes and vibrant dance teams that have shared their passion through shows, competitions, dance camps, TV appearances, and fundraising events that support and bring together our local community.

Lianne Bruce’s deep love for community work inspired her to lead the Cliviger Community Outreach Programme Engagement, which quickly became a heart warming space for connection and support. With that spirit, Lianne, along with fellow directors Sarah and Amy, founded Basically Cheer CIC in January 2024, with a mission to spread happiness and bring people closer together. Their search for the perfect home led them to a beautiful, old church on Cog Lane in Burnley. After two months of dedicated effort, that space was transformed into the vibrant, welcoming hub we proudly opened in September 2024.

Today, we’re thrilled to offer over 40 different classes and sessions, led by Lianne and an amazing team of coaches, junior coaches, leaders, instructors, support staff, and volunteers — all passionate about helping everyone grow, connect, and thrive. We also created Basically Bambinos, a Montessori-inspired playroom where little ones aged 0-4 and their parents can explore, learn, and enjoy precious moments together.

Our spacious main hall is available for hire, perfect for birthdays, events, meetings, and training days — helping us support even more ways for the community to come together.

 

Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep growing our classes and improving our hub to make sure every visitor feels welcomed, valued, and part of our family
